Wareham Urban Extension

Masterplan for 1000 dwellings, 16000m 2 employment space, community buildings, foodstore and transport interchange extending and complementing the Saxon town of Wareham . Outline Planning Application submitted March 2004.

Wimborne Town Centre Supermarket Development

Comprehensive redevelopment in the heart of an historic market town for a major food retailer with important views of the mediaeval Minster to be retained. Relocation of a nursing home, clinic and ambulance station to other sites provided the space to develop a foodstore with parking close to the centre of town. Estimated construction value £5m.

Hayling Island Sailing Club + Other Sailing Clubs

New Clubhouse to provide Olympic standard training facilities comprising offices, changing rooms, bar and dining areas with race control tower. Guest accommodation unit comprising 40 bed spaces, workshops and yard facilities. Planning Permission granted November 1995. Construction value £3m. Prepared PR and graphic packages for Centre of Sporting Excellence bid which gained funding. Opened by HRH Princess Anne March 2003. Recent feasibility studies for Poole Yacht Club refurbishment proposals. Project Architects for the extension and refurbishment of Parkstone Yacht Club and North Haven Yacht Club.

Studland Beach Facilities

A project for The National Trust to provide 'eco-friendly' public lavatories with composting toilets and rainwater collection on a Heritage Coast site. Feasibility study included refurbishment of associated beach facilities, including waterside fish restaurant, Planning Permission granted. Comprehensive redevelopment for the Ferry Company to provide offices with workshops and toll booths.

Scouting Centres at Brownsea Island, Buddens Farm, Throop

Design of another 'eco-friendly' scheme for a Commemorative Centenary building celebrating the first Baden-Powell Scout Camp on Brownsea Island . Scheme developed to utilize island materials together with a locally grown heather 'green' roof. The Dorset County Scout Centre scheme at Buddens Farm is on 95 acre site which includes the refurbishment of existing farm buildings and construction of new facilities combined with extensive landscape, environmental, ecological enhancements. Planning Permission obtained together with site specific policy in Local Plan. Phase one, toilet and shower accommodation completed and in use. The Bournemouth Scout Centre at Throop scheme includes the development of a new Scouting Centre to serve the Bournemouth area together with ecological enhancement.

Nursing Home, Ringwood

Extension and conversion of existing office block to provide nursing home facility complementary to extensive town centre sheltered housing development designed by Morgan Carey Architects.

Rossiter's Quay, Christchurch

26 new houses with individual moorings for Taywood Homes, following the redevelopment of riverside boatyard including re- siting of boat building sheds and chandlery, excavation of yacht basin. Construction value over £4m.

Schools

Feasibility studies and Planning Applications have been prepared for a number of Dorset schools. Colehill First School completed March 2005. Loders Primary School opened 2004. Cerne Abbas School now at design stage.

Lytchett Manor Sports Hall

Extension of sports hall complex to provide additional training and practice hall with new changing facilities. Project complete and in use. Construction value £265,000.

Individual Private Houses

A variety of individual houses for private clients, frequently incorporating swimming pools, saunas, games rooms and multiple garaging. Current projects include Studland, Iwerne Minster, Okeford Fitzpaine. Completed properties in Tower Road , Branksome Park, Western Avenue and Links Road, Poole, Lower Golf Links Road, Broadstone, Lytchett Matravers, Harmans Cross, Upwey, Weymouth, Woodgreen, Studland, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and South Devon .

Urban and Village Appraisals

Studies have been carried out in a number of towns and villages as part of PPG15 assessment, justification for design decisions, strategic planning to identify development sites for Local Plan inclusion and to assist local planning authorities achieve their Design Policy goals. Clients for this work include developers, planning consultants and planning authorities.
